Privacy Policy

BestPic (“we,” “us”) is a photo-analysis tool operated by Evan Luza. This policy describes what data we collect, how it's used, and the choices you have. By using the BestPic website or iOS app, you agree to the practices below.

Information we collect

• Photos you upload.When you submit photos for analysis, they are sent to our server and forwarded to OpenAI for scoring. We do not store your photos after the analysis completes. OpenAI's handling of the images is governed by their privacy policy and their enterprise data policies, under which API inputs are not used to train models.
• Analysis results.The scores, feedback, and image references are stored locally on your device (in the iOS app's local storage or your browser's localStorage). They are not sent back to us.
• Purchase information. If you buy a paid unlock, the transaction is processed by Apple (iOS) or Stripe (web). We receive a confirmation that you purchased, but do not receive your full payment details.
• Usage analytics. We use privacy-respecting analytics (e.g., Vercel Analytics) to understand aggregate traffic patterns. No personal identifiers are collected.
• Crash and error logs. If the app crashes, we may receive anonymous technical details (OS version, stack trace) to fix bugs. These logs do not contain your photos or personal information.

What we do not do

• We do not create user accounts or store your photos on our servers.
• We do not sell or rent your data to third parties.
• We do not use your photos for advertising, training AI, or any purpose beyond the single analysis you requested.
• We do not track you across other apps or websites.

How photos are processed

Photos are uploaded over HTTPS, compressed, and passed through OpenAI's vision API for scoring. The full round trip typically takes under 10 seconds. After the response is returned, the photos are discarded from our server and not written to persistent storage.

Your choices and rights

• Delete local data.On iOS, clear your history and unlock state from inside the app (Settings → Clear all). On web, clear your browser's site data for bestpic.co.
• Access or delete server-side data.We don't retain user-identifiable data server-side. If you believe we have data about you, contact us at the address below and we'll confirm and delete it within 30 days.
• Do not use the service if you disagree. Uploading photos implies consent to the processing described here.

Children

BestPic is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13. If you believe a child has used the service, contact us and we'll remove any associated data.

Third parties

The following third parties process data on our behalf:

• OpenAI — AI analysis of uploaded photos
• Vercel — hosting and analytics
• Apple — in-app purchases on iOS
• Stripe — payments on the web
• RevenueCat — subscription / purchase reconciliation on iOS

Each of these vendors has their own privacy policy, which takes precedence for data they process directly.

International users

BestPic is operated from the United States. By using the service, you consent to the transfer and processing of your data in the US. If you are in the EEA, UK, or California, you may have additional rights under GDPR, UK GDPR, or CCPA; email us to exercise them.

Changes to this policy

If we make material changes, we'll update the “last updated” date and, where reasonable, notify users in-app.
